When you post a 1099 job on Wonolo, you include the total wage and the estimated time to complete the work (duration). This helps us make sure that your job complies with minimum wage laws and helps Wonoloers understand the expectations for your position and know how much they will be paid for their work.
If the job is completed BEFORE the estimated end time, you are required to pay the full amount that was posted in your job description.
If this does occur, please try to find more work for the Wonoloer to complete.
However, you may make adjustments to pay if:
- There is a mutual agreement between you and the Wonoloer that the job may end prior to the posted end time, so pay will be adjusted down.
- It is clear in the job description that payment will be adjusted down based on actual length of the job.
If a job is completed AFTER the estimated end time, you are required to adjust pay up to compensate the Wonoloer for the additional work done. Pay is based on daily rate posted in the job description (This is a 1099 job, so extra pay is not considered overtime pay)
