What should the job description include?

We have found that jobs that are filled quickly have concise job descriptions that contain key information including:

  • A brief description of the company
  • Description of the main aspects of the job
  • Any preparation that is required. For example: material to be read ahead of the job, be familiar with…
  • Any special/specific requirements, e.g. ability to lift a specific weight, ability to use specific technology, dress code
  • Tools to be brought: certain clothes/shoes, laptop, phone, etc. 
  • Information about how to find the location, who to contact on arrival, etc
